 Washer Pendants

Sneak peek to my new collection of etsy products. I am currently working on taking pictures. These are just some of a few of the close to finished products.

One of my goals is to finish my washer necklaces by the end of the month to be just in time for Christmas.

I am trying to take pictures that are elegant and ingenious. I am always open for suggestions or complements, so if you want to comment below it would be most helpful.

You will be able to find these products and more products by 12/1/12 at this link Bee Authentic Creation.

 Giveaways

I am also wanting to start giveways for special products from my shop. This is a project I am currently working on.

Egg Noodle Science

I ran into an old recipe and decided to make it. Like most grandmas this one didn't have clear cut instructions for how to measure the ingredients but I found it quite helpful. Instead it had ratios for how much to add. I think this is a great idea. Cooking and saving isn't always easy. Sometimes I want to make a big batch of something to store later and sometimes I want to make something small for one meal. I hope this egg noodle science helps you.

1 large egg = 1/2 cup flour = 1/8 cup milk or water

This is not an exact science but this almost always comes close. You want the dough to be buoyant but not overly sticky. If the dough is sticky add a little bit more flour and if the dough is to dry add a little bit more milk or water. You want to be able to press your finger to it and come out fairly clean.
Egg Noodles
Eggs
Flour
Milk or water
Pinch of salt

Mix all ingredients. Let rest in a boil for 10 minutes. On a floured surface take a workable portion of the dough and place it in the center. Dust the top of the dough and rolling pin with flour. Also for good measures you should dust your hands in flour. Roll out your dough to approximately 1/8 of an inch. Fold the dough in fourths and lay the dough to dry on newspaper unfolded. Wait an hour. With a pizza cutter, cut egg noodles. Flip noodles 30 minutes to an hour until dry. Store them in the freezer or refrigerator.

Own Fone: Should Be For The US

How to make a call instructions image.

They should really make an own fone for America. This British phone is a light weight, credit card size phone that is great for children. I don’t know about you but I would never buy my child an expensive phone where they can call people their not supposed to, text or break the phone. Plus there are a lot of features on phones now days that are unnecessary for small children. With more and more parents buying cell phones for children either for safety or for emergency only it would be nice to know that their phones are being used for just that. The own fone is simple. It is made with the ability to call up to 12 people that you have already programed the phone to call. There is also really no incentive for anyone to steal the phone and use it because you can only call the people you have on your phone. So my question is why do we not have a phone like this hear?

Children's Bench

I found this bench on the side of the road. I am one who hates to see things that can be fixed up go to waste. So this is what I did. I went to a garage sale and got a wall self for $3. This wood was used for the seat of the bench. I had a friend cut the wood into the size I wanted. I scraped all the peeling paint off, sanded it, and washed it. I went to the store and found a small can of paint in the clearance section. You can find paint a lot cheaper if you don’t mind pre-mixed paint.

I used the arms of the shelf to nail in the back end of the seat so it would be sturdier. When I put it together the seat was a little off but it still worked just fine.

I finally used a piece of lace and some gold spray paint and made this neat design. I really like how this bench turned out. I think I will use it for putting on children’s shoes. I will call it a shoe bench.

Embroidery Machine

I would really like to get an embroidery machine. Creating things is one of my passions and embroidering things for people is a great way to start a business. I sale things on etsy already but to find a specific audience is very important. This is what I am saving up for. It costs over $300 but I still would love to get one. I found this one at Amazon.

Wookie the Chew

James Hance is a very talented sci-fi artist. I want to use some of his prints for my future star wars baby room. I have many plans for the room and this Winnie the Pooh meets Star Wars theme is cute and very awesome at the same time. It mixes childhood memories and sci-fi together.

James Hance also has a book that is written in a Winnie the Pooh style with Star Wars under tones.
this is going to be my husbans fathers day gift.

Storybots

Storybots is a neat and creative way to teach children a letter a song. These songs are not only entertaining for children but also for adults. I would say they are a modern day school house rock and the wiggles. Don’t worry it is only a rock

If you would like to subscribe to story bots click link. they have a newsletter and you can down load a free mp3 of one of their songs. They also have coloring work sheets you can print off and in the future they will have books. Being a homeschooler this is a good resource.

Glow in the Dark Pacifier

One product that I have found most helpful has been MAM Night pacifiers. One of my sisters told me about how they glow in the dark and how her daughter could find them easier. Now my daughter is staring to teeth and has been getting up in the middle of the night to be soothed. I love to cuddle and rock my daughter but I love my sleep a little bit more sometimes. I decided to give them a try and found out it worked. One of the issues my little girl was having was she couldn't find her pacifier in the dark and I have trouble helping her find them. This product is definently worth a try.

Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Love to Play Puppy: Manufacturing Issue

I found a laugh and learn puppy at a garage sale for my daughter. I was really excited because these toys generally cost somewhere between $23-$35 dollars. I got it home only to find that the inside of it was rusted and new batteries didn’t work. I thought maybe some water got into it so the next time I went to a garage sale I told the lady what I found out from my previous experience. The lady gave me the toy for free but again I got it home to find that it too was also rusted. I found out that the batteries that were used in production leaked causing this problem.

The one on the left is 2003 and the other is 2008 making them, 9 and 4 years old. The funny thing is the newer one was more rusted than the older one.

My suggestion is that if you buy this toy to switch out the batteries when you buy it. It may prolong the life of the toy.

Lovely Chai Latte

I love chai latte it is so good it is addicting. I found this stuff at a craft show three years ago and I come back to the same craft show just to pick one up. There is uv course an address, website and a phone number to order more but this 1lb, 12oz canister does last me a while. I think this Christmas I will order some for gifts. The website www.mamasloveathome.com is not only a place where you can get this amazing chai latte mix but she also sales cloth diapers and other baby goodies. If you are wondering about the chai latte it is 3 weight watcher points per serving and 120 calories. To be honest I am typing this blog post and sipping on my chai latte it is so good. Enjoy!
